“THE BOYS WENT OUT” in your next Kiteboarding mag

22. April 2011

I’ll give you two good reasons to buy a subscription to the Kiteboarding.eu magazine. Firstly, in the next issue everyone who gets the KB at home will find the TBWO movie attached as a DVD. If you don’t have a subscription, but still want to see the whole movie, you can get it at www.theboyswentout.com.

Secondly,  TBWO is a complete new format of kiteboarding movies. This movie is not just about the action, in fact, it shows what kb is really about – what drives us to get up at 5 ‘o clock in the morning and wait for wind… damn it was so wicked to ride for several weeks with the nicest guys in Denmark. Hittin’ some rails, lookin’ for some waves and having heaps of fun.  It was an indescribable experience and also makes for a good story. Check it out on www.theboyswentout.com featuring Henning Sandström from Sweden, Chris Tack from Belgium, Tom Schüller, Torben Käding from Germany and Oli Panny from Austria. Peace!

Kite4Freedom features the Cortina Snowkite Contest 2011

23. März 2011

The Cortina Snowkite Contest took place at the Passo Di Giau for the fourth time. Its an amazing place for snowkiting. For me it was the first time to join also a big air contest and it was quite funny to fly 1 min and 26 sec. But to be honest after a while it gets pretty boring and I got more excited to go unhooked again. Its an insane place for freestyle. In an altitude of 2200 meters above the sea level you find perfect snow conditions almost until the end of april. This weekend we had fresh powder and wind from northeast. All in all it was a super nice freeride competition with friendly organizers and great conditions. Stick to your guns and see you hopefully in 2012…

Snowkite Masters in Winterberg

21. Februar 2011

Snowkite_Master_Jan-Schiegnitz

Snowkite Masters – you can delete snow and kite: it remains a sick wallride and a won vodka. The result of the really bad conditions was a nice park session and a cozy evening in the winter wonderland of Winterberg…

Thanks to Mathias Schumacher for the great pictures.

German Champion 2011

14. Februar 2011

At the border triangle, which is formed by Switzerland, Austria and Italy right in the middle of Europe, lies the contemplative town of Resia. Resia has made a name for itself as a snowkite destination over the past years, and has been home to the German Snowkite Championships for four consecutive winters now. The spot lived up to its reputation of providing good obstacles, constant wind and great parties once again. With consideration to the international field of competitors, the event committee also awarded the additional title of the snowkite worldchampion 2011. It has been not much wind, but still tons of fun to hit the box with some frontside boardslide 360 revert. The competition ended last sunday and hell yeah I could defend my title as German snowkite champion 2011 and managed to get second in the international ranking .

Thanks to Proboarder.eu for the sick shots below.

16. Dezember 2010

teneriffa_header_janschiegnitz

Just got a bit lazy and ignored the page for a while.  Have been to Tenerife  to train for the coming season.  Absolutely stoked about the fresh recovered knee I could land a few new tricks.  The island is f### awesome: 3700 m high mountain in the center, super surf, everywhere climbing rocks and scary high cliff jumps.  I will come back for sure.  sorry but the best images are still exclusive – hopefully soon in a magazine of your choice. Merry Xmas!!!

Screen-shot-2010-08-04-at-13.38.25_Sc

Yesterday we, that is Oli Panny, Henning Sandström, Christophe Tack and Tom Schüller met in Hvide Sande for a kiteboarding roadmovie. The wind was okay, so we searched for obstacles. We found a picknick table and started to shoot. The film crew around Martina Chamrad, Steffen Borschart, Moritz Bock and Kalle put a action cam in my kite. Here a screenshot from the action cam. Visit   http://de-de.facebook.com/pages/The-Boys-Went-Out/121739147847064?ref=ts to see some more pictures. Today we gonna hit a A-frame at klosters…

Kiteskate Masters 2010

18. Juli 2010

Its Saturday the 10th of July and I’m at the “Tatort Hawaii” to pull off the first Kiteskate contest in the history of kitesurfing together with Torben and Jens. Its a sunny day at the beautiful kitespot Stein. To use the butterbox and kicker also without wind the locals supported us with a jetski and a boot . As we got started the guys were pushing it really hard from the beginning and everyone gave it a go on hitting the obstacles. Amir was an outstanding rider and could get every vote from each rider. BIG PROPS to all riders and Schwerelosigkite, who made it possible. www.kiteskate.eu
